Advertising Strategist
We’re looking for a Digital Advertising Strategist to lead paid media strategy and performance across client accounts, with a focus on driving measurable business results. You’ll own advertising strategy, execution, and performance across key accounts, across platforms like Google, Microsoft, Meta, LinkedIn, and more, turning client goals into measurable results.
This is someone who recognizes that platforms are increasingly automated, and the real advantage comes from better data, stronger creative, and smarter strategy. Someone who pays attention to what’s changing, tests constantly, and pushes past surface-level metrics to understand what’s actually working.
This role is fully remote, with optional access to our riverfront office in Oshkosh, WI. Team members meet in person once a month for collaboration, so applicants must live within 200 miles of Oshkosh.
Who We're Looking For
Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of digital advertising experience, ideally in an agency environment
- Proven ability to drive measurable business outcomes across multiple accounts
- Strong understanding of modern ad platforms and how automation impacts performance
- Experience with audience strategy, conversion tracking, and performance analysis
- Ability to interpret data and translate it into a clear strategic direction
- Proficiency with analytics tools and platform-specific reporting
You must live within 200 miles of Oshkosh, WI, and be able to travel to the Oshkosh office at least once each month.
Core Responsibilities
Strategy & Performance
- Build and lead advertising strategies rooted in data, testing, and real audience behavior
- Develop full-funnel approaches that connect awareness, consideration, and conversion efforts
- Align campaign strategy to business outcomes, not just platform metrics
- Analyze performance across channels and identify what is actually driving results
- Continuously refine strategy based on performance data, not assumptions
Ownership & Execution
- Own campaign performance from setup through optimization, scaling, and long-term efficiency
- Stay connected to results after launch and adjust quickly when performance shifts
- Focus on signal quality, audience inputs, and conversion data to guide platform algorithms
- Identify underperformance early and take action before it impacts results
- Take responsibility for outcomes, not just execution
Innovation & Evolution
- Stay ahead of how advertising platforms are evolving, including increased automation, AI-driven optimization, and reduced manual control
- Test new approaches across creative, targeting inputs, bidding strategies, and campaign structures
- Move beyond traditional targeting to focus on data strategy, first-party signals, and audience inputs
- Challenge existing strategies to uncover new opportunities for growth
- Bring forward ideas that improve how the agency approaches advertising
Collaboration & Influence
- Partner with Account Managers to align advertising with broader client strategy and goals
- Work closely with creative teams to develop, test, and refine messaging that drives performance
- Contribute to client conversations as a strategic partner, not just a campaign manager
- Support new business efforts with insight-driven advertising strategies
Growth & Opportunity
- Identify opportunities to scale campaigns and expand program impact
- Surface gaps in current strategies and recommend clear improvements
- Think beyond the current scope to drive stronger results and long-term growth
